the

Air Quality On Sunday: Unhealthy

I'm 7 News meteorologist Maureen McCann

looking at dangerously high fire

conditions statewide that means some

very smoky air poor visibility and poor

air quality too we have that in Colorado

Springs due to the nearby waldo canyon

fire can see that smoke and haze not

much better in Colorado other in Fort

Collins through the high park fire and

that continues to grow we have poor air

quality across many of the communities

along the i-25 corridor including fort

collins also Greeley and Denver today

the air quality index is going to be in

the unhealthy for sensitive groups

ranged a few of a chronic lung condition

not a day to have extended time outdoors

and certainly not doing any strenuous

activity could get some relief from some

isolated thunderstorms today we had them

pop up yesterday over the high country

but they will be very few and far

between the trend is going to be for

breezy conditions in the mountains very

dry air and very hot temperatures so

they're your red flag warnings posted

statewide Futurecast shows a little bit

of relief from those spotty

thunderstorms coming up through the

swatch mountains and sanger de cristos

and eventually making their way towards

the i-70 corridor but the eastern plains

should be free of precipitation notice

how dry it is there at least the south

eastern plains that's where you going to

find your hottest temperatures look at

these numbers statewide you can find

some relief up in the high country but

triple digits are evident from

Burlington to Lamar Pueblo and then

right here in Denver will be rivaling a

record the existing one goes back to

2007 it's 100 degrees so another very

hot day and we could be putting a record

in jeopardy on Monday to Tuesday triple

digits yet again we stay in the 90s all

week long but get into some slightly

better rain chances overnight lows stay

mild to they're going to be in the 60s

thanks so much for watching hope you're

having a great weekend
